I looked up the definition of the word “harbor” and  the word mean “a place where vessels may find shelter, especially one protected from rough water. So I began to meditate on how it relate to the Harbor of Hope foundation. I like to think of the gathering of women enduring and overcoming breast cancer as a place where we not only share our stories but a place where we are loved, encouraged, strengthened and protected from the turbulence of life. At HOH, we gain a sense of relief from the bad medical reports, negative statistics, constant doctor visits, outstanding medical bills, family issues, etc. We as fighters and survivors are vessels used by GOD come to this place and find hope for our condition. Rather we are dealing with fear, doubt, depression, or loneliness, we continue to cling to hope and trust in JESUS, our GREAT PHYSICIAN. As Romans 15:13 says “May the GOD of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in HIM so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” It is with this kind of hope, we are living proof of victories in our own unique way. Each of us still here today as evidence of GOD’s faithfulness and goodness to us! We will keep on hoping and trusting HIM for others to come. Thanks HOH! You women rock!
